Las monturas en minecraft son objetos muy valiosos. Ya no tanto por su utilidad, si no también por su escasez. Tienes que tener en cuenta que son objetos que no pueden (actualmente) craftearse en ninguna de las versiones disponibles de minecraft (hasta la 1.8.1 actual). 

Si no se pueden craftear, ¿cómo se pueden conseguir? Por suerte, podemos conseguirlas en cualquier cofre que encuentres. En el mundo, encontrarás estos cofres en spawners, templos del desierto, templos de la jungla, aldeas y en la stronghold (que da acceso al End). En la dimensión del nether puedes encontrarlas en los cofres de las fortalezas del nether. 

Así es que aunque no puedas craftear la montura de minecraft sí podrás encontrarla, con una alta probabilidad de que tras explorar un poco, tengas todas las que necesites. 

Puedes utilizarla para montar burros, caballos (y sus híbridos) y cerdos. En cuanto a los caballos, gracias a su vida extra y su velocidad pueden facilitar el recorrer grandes distancias. En cuanto a los burros, si además los equipas con un cofre esto puede facilitar la tarea de transportar objetos de un sitio a otro. En cuanto a los cerdos, la utilidad es la de...bueno, es divertido. Recuerda que para poder montar un cerdo, además de la montura necesitarás una zanahoria con una caña de pescar, ya que si no no podrás dirigir los movimientos del mismo. Además también debes recordar que para poder montar a burros y caballos primero debes adiestrarlos. 

Nota final: recuerda que esto es referente a la versión minecraft vanilla, es decir, sin ningún tipo de mods, el minecraft más estándar. Hay determinados mods que sí permiten la construcción de monturas.
